The love for motorcycles started in 1965 when a neighbor brought home a Hodaka Ace 90. His big brother had a Yamaha 250 Big Bear Scrambler and that was the biggest, neatest motorcycle in the world. Fast forward to the early 70"s, Austin Texas. I am now working part time at the BSA and Bridgestone Dealer . Both brands go out of business, so Kawasaki is picked up.
The first Dave's Cycles is opened in Round Rock from 1982 to 1992. Years pass and in December, 2008 the current Dave's Cycles and Small Engine opens.
The formal education includes training from the US Air Force in Aircraft Maintenance. Associates Degree in Electronics, with 4 years at the University of Texas in Areospace Engineering. Formal factory training with Suzuki and Kawasaki . All of this amounts to 40 plus years experience.
Owner of 150 plus motorcycles including Harley, CZ, Bultaco, Ossa, Montessa, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, BSA, Fantic, KTM and SWM.
Current owner of 1982 Suzuki Katana 1400cc nitrous oxide steet bike. If you ever went to Little River in the 80's you saw the "tiger shark nitrous bike" run down the track.
Services offered include mount and balance tires, oil changes, tune ups, carb clean and electrical work, with a specialization in restoration of 60's thru 80's metric bikes.
Lawnmower repair and small engine service is also offered including oil changes, carb cleans, blade sharpening and electrical work.
Riding mowers , lawn tractors and tillers are welcome, along with mini bikes and go karts.
Service areas include Round Rock, Pflugerville, Hutto, Austin, Taylor ,Cedar Park, Leander and surrounding towns. Dave's Cycles has customers that come from Waco to San Antonio.
